Irene (Charnomaz) Roth, 87, of Paxinos, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Irene was the widow of Richard D. “Skip” Roth who passed in 2017 after sharing over 60 years of marriage. Born on August 12, 1938 in Shamokin she was a daughter of the late Nicholas and Anna (Wock) Charnomaz.
Irene was a 1953 graduate of Shamokin High School. She was employed at the dress factory in Trevorton before later working at Paper Magic until her retirement. Irene was a devoted member of Transfiguration of Our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, and spending time at the Senior Action Center - Life Geisinger, as well as listening to her favorite music by Elvis and Johnny Cash. Above all, she cherished the time she spent with her family.
Irene will be lovingly remembered by her son, Richard Roth Jr. and wife, Marcy, of Trevorton; daughter, Christine Bordner, of Northumberland; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; sisters, Olga Roscoe and Vera Charnomaz. She was preceded in death by great-grandson, Kedan Bordner; sister, Jean Kroll; and son-in-law Michael Bordner.
